Terms & Conditions
Last updated 23 August 2026
These terms apply to every order placed through Genie Express BD. Placing an order means you accept them, so it is worth the five minutes.
1. Who we are, and what this service is
Genie Express BD is a Bangladesh-based buying and import service. We are not the seller of the goods. You choose a product on AliExpress, Taobao, Tmall or 1688, and we act as your buying agent: we purchase it from that seller on your behalf, receive it at our warehouse in China, and forward it to your address in Bangladesh.
Product titles, photos, specifications, variants and stock levels are reproduced from the source marketplace listing as the seller published them. We do not manufacture, inspect, test or certify the goods, and we cannot vouch for a claim a seller makes about their own product.
2. Your account
You need an account to order, and the name, phone number and address on it must be real and current — they are what goes on the shipping label and what a courier calls. An order that fails because those details were wrong is not our responsibility.
Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us immediately if you think someone else has access. We may suspend or close an account used for fraud, for goods that cannot legally be imported, or to abuse refunds.
3. Prices, and why you pay in two parts
The taka price on a product page is built from the seller’s current price and our exchange rate at the moment you look at it. Once you place an order, that price is frozen: a later change to rates or to the seller’s pricing never rewrites what you already agreed to pay.
Checkout collects the product price plus the seller’s China-local delivery to our warehouse. For some products only a percentage of that is required up front.
It does not collect China-to-Bangladesh freight, customs charges or local delivery, because none of those are knowable until your parcel physically exists at our warehouse and goes on a scale. Once it is weighed, that amount becomes your final payable and appears on your order. Your parcel is dispatched to you after it is settled.
4. When an order becomes binding
Placing an order is a request to buy, not yet a completed purchase. It becomes binding when we pay the seller in China — the point your order shows as Purchased. Until then you can cancel it and be refunded in full.
After that we are holding goods we have already paid a third party for, so a change of mind is no longer a cancellation. See our Refund Policy for what is refundable and what is not.
We may also decline or cancel an order ourselves — the item turns out to be unavailable, a listing price was obviously wrong, the goods are restricted, or the order looks fraudulent. If we do, you are refunded in full.
5. What we will not buy or ship
Anything prohibited or restricted from import into Bangladesh, and anything a courier or airline refuses to carry. That includes weapons and replicas, explosives and flammable liquids, drugs and controlled substances, currency, live animals and plants, and knowingly counterfeit goods.
You are responsible for whether what you order can legally be imported. If a restricted item is discovered after we have already spent money on it, the order is cancelled and refunded less the costs already incurred, and anything seized by customs is not refundable.
6. Shipping times, customs and delivery
Every timeframe we quote is an estimate, not a guarantee. Air shipments typically take around 10 to 20 days from the day the seller dispatches; sea freight takes considerably longer and costs considerably less. Seller dispatch speed, consolidation, flight and vessel schedules, customs inspection, weather and public holidays all move that, and none of them are within our control or grounds for a refund on their own.
Customs duty and taxes levied by the Bangladesh authorities are passed on to you at cost and added to your final payable amount where they apply.
We deliver to the address on the order, or hold the parcel for pickup at our office if you chose that. A failed delivery caused by a wrong address, an unreachable phone or a refused parcel can be charged again for redelivery.
7. How the shipping weight is worked out
Most goods are charged per kilogram against the rate for their shipping category. A few categories — mobiles, tablets, laptops, cameras and watches — are charged a flat rate per piece and ignore weight completely.
For per-kilogram categories, the billed weight is your parcel’s measured weight at our warehouse plus a standard padding percentage. That padding covers your item’s share of the protective packaging and consolidation of a shared bulk shipment, which a bare scale reading of the item alone does not capture. A minimum billable weight also applies per product, because the courier itself bills a minimum. The rate and the resulting weight are both shown on your order before you are asked to pay anything.
8. Checking, damage and shortages
When your goods reach our China warehouse we count them against what you ordered. That is a quantity check, not a quality inspection — we do not open sealed retail packaging, test electronics, or verify that a product performs as the seller claimed.
Check your parcel when it is delivered. If something arrives damaged, wrong or short, tell us within 3 days of delivery with photographs, and ideally an unboxing video, and we will handle it under the Refund Policy. Claims raised later are much harder for us to take up with a seller, and may not be recoverable.
9. Your wallet
Refunds and credits are paid into your Genie Express BD wallet. You can spend the balance on any future order, or request a withdrawal to a bank account or a mobile banking account. Withdrawals are reviewed by our team before payout, and the payout provider’s fee, where one applies, is shown before you confirm.
The wallet is a store of credit with us. It is not a bank deposit, it earns no interest, and it has no value beyond the balance shown.
10. Limits of our responsibility
Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the product concerned. We are not liable for indirect loss — lost profit, business interruption, or a missed occasion — and we do not carry the manufacturer’s warranty on goods bought from a third-party seller.
Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited under the law of Bangladesh.
11. Changes, and the law that applies
We may update these terms. The version that governs your order is the one published on this page at the time you placed it, which is what the date at the top of this page is for.
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
